The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a highly energetic and motivated professional to work with a multi-gender population with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health disorders and their families. The candidate chosen will work between the Motivate Clinic/VCUHS and RBHA to securely link those endorsing behavioral health issues with domestic violence and/or suicidal thoughts to appropriate services (mental health, substance use, disability services, inpatient/residential services, and/or outpatient services). RBHA will participate in the development of the collaboration, expansion of suicide prevention services, engage in cross-training, and consulting for other partners in the collaboration.
Essential Functions

  • Responsible for completing intake and assessments, and individualized services plans
  • submitting timely and accurate requests for authorization of services to MCO's
  • connecting with needed resources and complying with weekly supervision schedules to ensure clinical approach is fully implemented
  • provide care coordination, maintain linkages with referral sources, to include case managers and clinicians, advocate for needed resources, and monitor all services related to the individual's needs
  • Attends staff meetings, weekly supervision, clinical staffing's, and multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Maintains medical records in accordance with quality standards
  • May provide individual, group, and family therapy on a limited basis Position Requirements

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Working knowledge related to the needs of individuals with SUDs and co-occurring mental health disorders; behavioral health issues; evidence-based practices for the treatment of individuals with co-occurring disorders to include medicated assisted treatment; good oral and written communication skills; ability to maintain records according to pertinent regulatory, reimbursement, agency and professional standards; ability to work as a team and provide written reports on a weekly basis; ability to advocate for client's treatment needs and lead multi-disciplinary treatment team; strong understanding of the federal regulations regarding substance abuse confidentiality issues. Must have the sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching and handling, pushing and pulling.
    Education and Experience
    Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field. Experience in a behavioral health setting and women's services required. Must be licensed or license-eligible.
    Special Requirements
    CSAC, QMHP, or certificate-eligible preferred.

    Starting Salary Range

    Clinician I $55,089.43, Clinician II $59,488.58 (licensed)
