Our expertise comprises all aspects of utility work including overhead, underground, transmission, telephone special hotline construction, substations, cable splicing, foundations, horizontal and directional boring, and right-of-way clearing.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time, benefit eligible, Electrical Utilities Project Coordinator, to join our busy Project Management Construction Team.

Job Description

SUMMARY: The Project Coordinator's central duty is to assist the Project Manager and support the Project Team to ensure a continuum of progress throughout a project(s) lifecycle. This can be any number of tasks. Often, assisting with the tasks outlined below, but may also be asked to perform clerical duties, maintain contact with clients and parties involved through email and phone calls, answer questions and concerns, prepare presentations, and track project data. Be detail-oriented multi-tasker, with a focus on problem solving. Will possess great communication skills and easily adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Create Project Plans
    • Assist the Project Team in developing concrete, detailed plans for a project, including the schedule, the budget, outlining the duties of each team members, identifying project goals, and setting a timeline for the project. They collaborate with various teams and hold meetings to develop project plans and present them to upper-level management before starting the project.
    • Monitor Project Progress
      • Closely monitor each project to ensure that projects remain on track, meet deadlines, stay under budget, and develop according to plan. Responsible not only for identifying project objectives but ensuring that they are met.
      • Report Project Results
        • Once a project is complete, responsible for gathering and documenting all project results and then reporting or presenting them to the appropriate parties. This usually includes clients and upper-level management. They should report on the success of the project and any setbacks that were encountered or room for improvement.

          Qualifications

          To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
        • Having project management experience
        • Know project management methodology
        • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
        • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred but not required
        • Personify highly ethical professionalism
        • Industry specific experience, knowledge preferred

        • Excellent organizational skills
        • Possess a personal effectiveness/credibility
        • Strong communication skills
        • Data Analysis
        • Basic knowledge and experience with contract management, contract law
        • Experience soliciting and managing subcontractors and suppliers preferred
          REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years related experience and/or training specifically in construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

          LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

          REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
