About the jobThe Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Management and Platform Architect to join us. In this role, you'll be responsible for translating the customer business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs for very large complex technology solutions and integrating architecture. You will serve as an advocate for the customers as you'll be the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address customer business problems. You will provide direction for design activities. Your work will often be project-based and sometimes you'll work at customer sites. As a Management and Platform Architect, you should be used to proactively and regularly meeting with and presenting to customers. You will advise customers on how to set up their systems to be secure and provide consulting and outsourcing services. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.What you will doDeliver discovery, analysis, and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgroundsScope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deploymentDesign, create, and deliver content that enables Red Hat to sell, service, and support our solutions at scaleWork closely with product teams, product engineering, consulting, support, and sales to ensure an excellent customer experienceContribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools to scale Red Hat services capabilities and lower delivery riskTravel frequently up to 75%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines, to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers Monday through ThursdayWhat you will bringBackground in implementing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain6+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in enterprise environments4+ years of experience with platforms and their supporting infrastructuresBackground in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization or within the services division of a major software companyRecord of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firmsAbility to work with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customersBalance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of creativity and passion for open source software, tooling, and automationIntermediate to advanced level of scripting using Bash and PythonAdvanced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) platform experienceIntermediate to advanced experience with DNS, Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI), network, storage area network (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS), storage and file system, backup and restore, disaster recovery, high availability, privileged access management, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), sudoers, patch management, and automation workflowsRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification, or willingness to pursue it within the first 90 days of employmentThe following are considered a plus:Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certificationExperience implementing a continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelineBroad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies like Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft AzureKnowledge of container management and orchestration toolsExperience across one or more vertical industry areasExperience working in a quality assurance role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking toolsFamiliarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure, including cloud and hypervisor#LI-REMOTEAbout Red HatRed Hat is the world's leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver reliable and high-performing Linux, hybrid cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
