Your Impact at SAM:
The instrument operator uses a variety of surveying instruments to support a survey crew in their daily operationsAssists in the completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief Responsible for the operation, checking and basic field adjustments of survey equipment. E.g. tripods, tribrachs, levels, total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modemsUtilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computationsRead and interpret various types of maps and plansComplete neat and orderly field notes for survey operations with supervision from Crew ChiefKeeps Crew Chief informed of problems and progressLoad and unload trucks with equipment and suppliesClean and maintain survey equipment, tools and vehicleFollow company safety procedures for survey operations

What You Bring to SAM:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalentPossession of a valid, current driver's licenseOne year industry experienceKnowledgeable in the principles and performance of basic types of surveys, survey computations, and field operationsAbility to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions and terrainAbility to work out of town, in remote locations, for extended periods of time
