Our Data Centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative services. Meta is seeking an experienced, collaborative and self-motivated Global Shutdown Planning Program Lead to join our Global Facility Operations Support team within Facility Operations.This person will develop and manage the processes by which major maintenance and retrofit work is performed in data center buildings across our fleet. Retrofit periods at Meta are cross-functional efforts involving multiple stakeholders, particularly because these events affect the ability of data center buildings to serve IT traffic. Retrofit events are planned at a global level across multiple data center regions over the life of the data centers and executed in short duration windows. A successful candidate for this role will need to be experienced in planning major shutdown/turnaround periods at data centers or mission-critical facilities. This position requires working across cross-functional teams with often conflicting needs, a strong technical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and Network retrofit requirements, strong program management experience, and exemplary leadership and communication skills. This position is full-time.

**Required Skills:**

Global Shutdown Planning Program Lead Responsibilities:

1. Lead development of maintenance/modernization shutdown strategy for Facility Operations in conjunction with key business partners.

2. Support appropriate capacity planning within the business while ensuring modernization and operational uptime across our fleet.

3. Lead development of long-range plans for shutdown maintenance and retrofit activities across a global fleet of data centers in conjunction with key strategic planning partners.

4. Represent Facility Operations as the technical expert to coordinate with multiple stakeholder groups with a focus to minimize impact on business needs.

5. Provide technical expertise to evaluate justification and return on investment of retrofits and maintenance performed within shutdown periods and operational environments.

6. Coordinate with teams leading various retrofit and maintenance projects to ensure efficient and integrated planning at the site and global level.

7. Support the planning and execution of project portfolios within a limited and finite time frame.

8. In collaboration with cross-functional data center teams, identify and support efficient planning of lifecycle maintenance activities, upgrades, retrofits, and other site and central MEP/Network projects that require equipment shutdowns, to minimize impact on redundancy and IT capacity.

9. Develop, collect, and communicate leading and lagging key performance indicators for retrofit planning and execution workstreams - to site and IDC teams. Interface with responsible site teams to support project execution, closeout, and recommissioning activities.

10. Support global process standardization and improvement through identification, creation, and participation in cross-functional projects and working groups.

11. Drive cross-functional process development and improvement opportunities where required for retrofit activity.

12. Leverage best practices and lessons learned to develop and improve scalable processes and tooling in support of retrofit planning. Represent retrofit planning in global forums.

13. Coordinate with cross-functional counterparts and DC site teams to achieve an optimal plan for the business.

14. Influence without authority in strategic discussions. In concert with other key shutdown planning partners, provide crisp and timely communications to leadership, site teams and cross-functional partners at DC sites and global teams, including decisions, risks, and progress reports.

15. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (Approximately 25-50%).

16. Experience with tools/applications for planning and scheduling projects and shutdown activities.

17. Expert knowledge in process and program development.

18. Track record of process improvement and providing requirements for tooling/applications in support of these processes.

19. Track record of thinking strategically and executing tactically, producing results in timely manner.

20. Experience leading programs with cross-functional stakeholders and implementation across a fleet or global enterprise.

21. Experience making critical decisions and working with minimal direction.

22. Technical knowledge of critical environments and large-scale retrofit and maintenance projects.

23. 10+ years of experience managing maintenance and/or retrofits across diverse stakeholder groups in mission critical facilities.

24. Capacity Planning experience.

25. Formal project and/or program management training and experience.

26. 10+ years of experience in project management during shutdowns in data centers.

27. Bachelor's degree in a technical field. Advanced degree in engineering or construction management.

28. Experience with retrofit and maintenance projects in data centers.

29. Tableau/Data Analytics experience.
