Best Company.Claims Technician Job SummaryThe Claims Technician role is an opportunity to learn the insurance industry from the ground up. This position is an integral part of the company that provides support to the claims department. Responsibilities of this role including triaging incoming claims, paying invoices, helping customers over the phone, assisting in the mail room and performing time-sensitive responsibilities. This position requires working some time in the office but there could be opportunities to work from home as well. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
  • Sort, scan and attach scanned documents into electronic claims files.
  • Enter expense payment data into claims system to pay invoices as directed by Claims Examiners and Claims Managers.
  • Provide administrative support to the claims department using word processing, spreadsheet applications as well as scanning programs.
  • Perform general office duties including copying, data entry and filing.
  • Establish new claim files.
  • Printing and mailing all outgoing claims mail correspondence.
  • Identify and distribute all incoming mail, including miscellaneous mail.
  • ISO and Medicare/Medicaid indexing.
  • Perform Hunt group phone responsibilities, demonstrating effective and efficient communication with external customers.
  • Contribute to the overall morale of the Technician team in a positive and constructive manner. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet research
    • Prior experience in scanning documents using Adobe Acrobat
    • Excellent data entry
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to multitask
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment Experience and Education
      • High School diploma required
      • Associates Degree or college coursework in English, Business Administration, Administrative Management or equivalent experience is preferred
      • Previous experience in an insurance environment is preferred#LI-KS1
