Job Description:
Established in 1919 and traded on the NYSE, Standard Motor
Products, Inc., (SMP) is a leading independent manufacturer,
distributor, and marketer of replacement parts for motor vehicles
in the automotive aftermarket industry, with a complementary focus
on heavy duty, industrial equipment and original equipment markets.

on providing our customers with full-line coverage of its products,
and a full suite of complementary services that are tailored to our
customers' business needs and driving end-user demand for our
products. Our Engine Management Segment manufactures and
distributes a full line of critical components for the ignition,
electrical, emissions, fuel and safety-related systems of motor
vehicles. Our Temperature Control Segment manufactures and
distributes a full line of critical components for the temperature
control (air conditioning and heating) systems, engine cooling
systems, power window accessories and windshield washer systems of
motor vehicles. We sell our products primarily to automotive
aftermarket retailers, program distribution groups, warehouse
distributors, original equipment manufacturers and original
equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada,
Europe, Asia, Mexico and other Latin American countries. We employ
approximately 4,300 people in North America, Europe and Asia.
Overall Scope
-
The Inventory Control Analyst -assists in maintenance of inventory
controls, policies, standard procedures, and systems to achieve
accurate financial inventory information. This is accomplished
through a comprehensive analysis of inventory transactions to
identify problems, recommend solutions, and drive the
implementation of improved practices, tools, and policies.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED plus related experience; Associates
degree in a business or technical field, preferred
Knowledge of AS400 (JD Edwards, preferred) and WMS systems
Demonstrated ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in a
timely manner
Ability to interact across departments and employee levels
Ability to react to change productively and handle other tasks, as
required
Experience in a distribution environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and analyze data
Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, including addition,
subtraction, multiplication
Proficient in MS Office; advanced knowledge of Excel and Access
preferredResponsibilities and Duties
Observe and monitor operations transactions to ensure Company
policy and SOX adherence
Investigate inventory variance discrepancies, and suggest and
implement resolutions in an accurate and timely manner
Provide oversight in partnership with Inventory Control Supervisor
and Operations
Monitor daily Operational adjustments; research and correct, as
necessary
Generate reports, perform root cause analysis, and rectify as
necessary for the following:
Perform daily and monthly-end reconciliations
Identify areas of improvement for inventory availability to the
customer
Assist in Cycle Counts and physical inventory audits, as needed
Assist in systems testing, as needed
Ergonomic Focus
Walking, standing, and sitting during an 8-hour shift
Ability to look up, stoop, and use ladders to reach height
Ability to lift 10-40 lbs from ground level to waist high
Ability to type and use computer and telephone equipment
