want to hear from you! The Role: The position of Mobile Technician
- diesel is responsible for trouble-shooting, service, repair and
maintenance of Xylem products in a safe and efficient manner in a
Xylem Service Center, customer job site or via phone. Essential
Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical
systems and pump end issues and repair/rebuild as necessary using
computerized diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and
service various products as directed.
- Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list, manually
or digitally, for assigned product. Review list of parts with
Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and
repair.
- Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and
quality.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S
guidelines, policies and best practices.
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist
customers after hours.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities Minimum
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities,
License/Certification:
- Ability to diagnose common mechanical and electrical
issues
- Experience with diesel engine repairs
- Basic knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques to
repair and maintain equipment
- Basic knowledge of DC electric and circuit testing skills
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and lifting
equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers
and managers both verbally and in writing
- Two to three years of experience and/or training or combination

- Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- Safely stand eight (8) hours per day
- Safely use full range of physical motions associated with
general labor work continually throughout an entire work day
- To include walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting,
climbing, pushing and pulling
- To include safe repetitive lifting of up to 45 pounds at least
20 times per day
- To include safe frequent lifting of up to 60 pounds up to 20
times per day
- To include safe occasional lifting up to 70 pounds up to 10
times per day
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle continuously for a
minimum of 4 hours per day and cumulative throughout an entire work
