Overall Goal of Position:Provide leadership for all financial and process support in our Plants while embracing, promoting, and building OurRecipe SauerBrands:Job Summary:The Plant Controller is a key leader on the plant leadership team. He/She contributes to all areas of plant management and provide strong financial leadership. The Plant Controller is responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance. Plant Controller will work with corporate finance and accounting team to insure timely and accurate financial conditions of the plant and be able to communicate clear and concise facts comfortably.The successful candidate will be process oriented and data driven, working to provide accurate and timely financial conditions of the plant. In this role, the candidate will utilize root cause analysis to identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy as well as improving the financial condition of the plant. As a Sauer Brands team member, the candidate will execute special projects, initiatives as assigned, accept safety as a condition, and support factory operations. Furthermore, the candidate must embrace and support the building of the Sauer Brands Recipe.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Financial ReportingImplement internal and external financial reporting systems, controls, and procedures according to contractual requirements and GAAP.Manage weekly expense reporting including A/P and expense analysisGenerate daily, weekly and monthly financial metrics on plant performanceInsure that financial information is communicated timely and accuratelyCollaborates with Plant Manager, corporate accountants, and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysisDirect all Plant-wide financial activities, including budgeting, expense analysis, and inventory managementAnalyze and report daily, weekly and monthly KPI's and set monthly spending goals.Inventory AccuracyManage Sauer Brands
Cycle Count ProgramEnsure compliance in all facilitiesDaily, Weekly, and Monthly reporting and analysisAssist with corrective actions and root cause analysis related to inventory variances.Track the implementation of corrective actions and their effectiveness.Monitor and report on obsolescenceAudit physical inventory policies and procedures under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and in compliance with best practicesManage and oversee physical inventory counts and reconciliation at multiple locations on multiple dates per year as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue RecognitionShare best practices across global finance team, e.g., process improvements, financial modeling, and procedures changesMonitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risksEstimate product costs to support BU quoting activitiesManage the Plant s capital budgeting, capital leasing and the CAPEX budgets.Participate in the training and implementation of Sauer s SOPs related to inventory management and accomplish key strategic initiatives including job costing and a perpetual inventory system.Performance Standards (the criteria used to evaluate performance):Financial Reporting AccuracyInventory AccuracyDevelopment, Documentation and Execution of a Cycle counting program.Daily Inventory variance reconciliationsManagement and execution of Monthly Physical inventory counts of Finished GoodsOperational SupportWork collaboratively with operations to achieve production KPIsCost Control/Cost SavingsMeet or exceed defined KPIs for cost control savingsCOGS reductionInventory OptimizationCulture Support/BuildingFully support Safety Initiatives at SBIOrganizational Health KPIsWhat Are We Looking For:Personal CharacteristicsProfessional DemeanorCustomer-centric and problem-solving mindsetOutgoing, energetic, and results-oriented personalitySelf-Confident in abilities and takes responsibility for actions with no excuses mindsetCommunicates clear, concise facts comfortablyIntegrity-Does the right thing even when no one is lookingDisciplined approach and accountability for KPIsDependable team player with a positive attitudePassion for the organization, and attention to detailsPerformance History Requirement:Minimum of 5 years
