Global Corporate Payments (GCP) is a core operating group of American Express and has delivered robust growth over the past decade. GCP partners with corporate clients to help them manage business expenses and make large purchases through proprietary payment solutions and expense management tools. The U.S. Middle Market Field Account Development division of GCP is seeking to hire an experienced account development professional. This position is responsible for the overall management (growth, customer satisfaction, and retention) of a portfolio of high spending clients within a business to business segment. * Proven ability to exceed goals and sales targets consistently over time * Demonstrated unique ability to stem losses and manage high-risk clients * Utilize consultative selling/negotiation skills to identify and implement payment solutions * Demonstrated ability to conduct client account reviews to determine needs, educate customers and uncover new B2B growth opportunities and cross-sell opportunities * Fulfill pipeline opportunities and execute key portfolio strategies that will yield top line growth and prevent spend attrition for American Express Global Commercial Payments * Proven ability to execute a comprehensive contact strategy with disengaged customers * Experience managing strong customer objections with a sense of urgency and offer thoughtful solutions that meet the customer?s needs while supporting key shareholder objectives * Must demonstrate the ability to develop and implement a long-term portfolio management strategy * Experience partnering with an internal network to better serve the client and identify proper solutions * Must demonstrate the ability to analyze and digest information quickly and make critical recommendations and/or decisions based on data * Show proven ability to prioritize efforts across a variety of objectives and demands for time * Must have a growth mindset with the ability to embrace challenges, take risks and learn from mistakes * Excellent Sales Skills, 5-7 years minimum experience * Knowledge of Global Corporate Payments and OPEN business products required * Bachelor's degree required * Strong consultative sales skills including negotiation, influencing and collaboration * Effective pipeline management skills and a proven ability to follow through and motivate clients to take action in order to close the sale * Commanding executive presence and ability to deliver concise key messages * Proven ability to quickly establish key relationships with decision makers and influencers * Highly effective verbal and written communication skills * Ability to develop and execute a daily, weekly and monthly contact strategyEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions. **Job** *Sales* **Title:** *Manager-Sales/Account Development* **Location:** *VA-Richmond* **Other Locations:** *US-Arizona-Phoenix* **Requisition ID:** *18018063*
